Our 14 Days Uganda Student Safari is an amazing safari package designed for students that offers a deep dive into Uganda’s rich culture, community life, wildlife, and spectacular natural landscapes. This trip provides a unique balance of educational experiences, from Kampala City exploration to rural community engagement. Students not only learn about a new country but also contribute positively to the communities they visit. The safari with a group of 15 students and 3 teachers starts and ends in Kampala/Entebbe, and we strongly regard safety first for the students and teachers.

Day 1: Pick up from the Airport and Welcome Dinner.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up from the Airport and Welcome Dinner.
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport on day 1 of the 14 Days Uganda Student Safari, you will be picked up by our company safari guide, who will brief you about the safari and then transfer you to your accommodation in Kampala. While on the transfer, the students will have a glimpse of the bustling city and its vibrant atmosphere. Upon arrival, you will check into your hotel or guesthouse for dinner and an overnight stay at Red Chilli Hideaway Kampala.
Day 2: Home and Family visits in Kampala.
On day 2 of the 14 Days Uganda Student Safari, after an early breakfast, students will meet up with their driver guide and start their journey to visit local families in Kampala. The students will be divided into small groups to spend time in different homes, where they can interact and share experiences with their Ugandan peers and have a genuine look at daily life, family dynamics, and traditional hospitality in an urban Ugandan setting. After the day’s activities, you will drive back to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Kampala City Tour.
On day 3 of the safari, after an early morning breakfast, you meet up with your driver guide and head out to explore the capital city, Kampala, for a city tour. Students will visit various attractions, ranging from markets, craft shops, and religious sites, among others, where they will climb up the Gaddafi Mosque, observe local artisans and shop for unique handmade souvenirs, and witness the vibrant hustle of the Fish Market, offering a glimpse into the food culture of the city. After the city tour, you will drive back to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Rural Homestay and Community visit.
After an early breakfast, you will check out of the hotel, meet up with your driver guide, and head out to a rural community or village outside of Kampala to begin a unique rural homestay experience. Upon arrival, students will be paired with host families to experience daily routines and social customs firsthand, where they will engage in various daily chores of the family, such as fetching water, tending to a small garden, or preparing a traditional meal, and have a truly authentic look at village life.
Day 5: Community program and Transfer to Jinja.
On day 5 of the safari, after an early morning breakfast, students will engage in outreach programs in the local village, such as assisting with a pre-arranged project that involves helping at a local health center or conducting a simple educational workshop, participating in local cooking sessions, farm work, and a guided village walk. Later in the afternoon, the group will meet up with their driver guide and travel to Jinja, the “Adventure Capital of East Africa,” for dinner and an overnight stay at Jinja Backpackers, Brisk Recreation Hotel, or Hotel Paradise on the Nile.
Day 6: Relaxation and Individual Activities in Jinja.
On day 6 of the safari, the students will enjoy a day of relaxation and recreation in Jinja after the community work and reflect on their experiences during guided group discussions. Students can choose from a range of optional activities, such as relaxing by the River Nile, visiting the Source of the Nile, among other activities.
Day 7-8: Educational visit to local Primary and Secondary schools in Namasagali.
On day 7 and 8 of the 14 Days Uganda Student Safari, after an early morning safari, the group will travel to Namasagali. Upon arrival, the students will visit various local primary and secondary schools in the Namasagali region, where they will have the opportunity to interact with students and teachers, explore the educational system, participate in classroom activities, engage in sports matches with local students, and gain a deeper understanding of the Ugandan educational context.
Day 9: University/College Visit
On day 9 of the 14 Days Uganda Student Safari, the group will visit a local university or vocational institution to understand the higher education landscape in Uganda and have the opportunity to discuss career paths and the challenges and opportunities for Ugandan students. The group will participate in various activities in collaboration with a local NGO, such as a visit to a water project, a community health clinic, or a sustainable farming initiative, providing a different perspective on development work and social impact.
Day 10: Cultural Experience at Ndere Cultural Centre.
After an early breakfast, you will meet up with your driver guide, who will transfer you to Kampala, the capital city of Uganda. Later in the evening, the group will visit the renowned Ndere Cultural Centre, a fantastic way to experience the diversity of Uganda’s 56 tribes through music, dance, art sessions, and storytelling. The students will enjoy educational and highly entertaining performances that provide a comprehensive overview of the country’s rich cultural heritage.
Day 11-13: Transfer and Murchison Falls Safari.
After an early morning breakfast, you will check out of your hotel and meet up with your safari driver, and embark on your journey to Murchison Falls National Park. The journey takes about 5 to 6 hours’ drive, and on the way, you will have a stopover at Ziwa rhino sanctuary for rhino tracking. Upon arrival, you will check into your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Red Chili Rest Camp.
In the next two days, the group will engage in various adventure activities while at Murchison Falls National Park, including game drives, boat cruises along the Nile River, nature walks, birding, and taking in the breathtaking views of the falls.
Day 14: Departure to Kampala/Entebbe.
On the last day of the 14 Days Uganda Student Safari, you will have breakfast, check out of the lodge, and meet up with your driver guide to drive back to Kampala. On the way, you will have an en-route lunch and then proceed with the journey to Kampala. Arriving early evening, and upon arrival, your driver guide will drop you off at any place of convenience.

Tour Price: USD 12,500
Note:
The USD 12,500 tour price includes Accommodation, conducting home and family visits in Kampala, Kampala city tour, visiting craft and fish markets, rural homestay and community visits, and community visits, relaxation in Jinja, primary, secondary, and university visits, and Ndere Cultural Centre.
The trip to Murchison Falls will cost USD 500 per person, which includes game viewing, boat cruise, entrance Fees, safari vehicle, driver guide, Fuel and the top of the falls; however, if you choose the Big Five Safari, which includes rhino tracking at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the cost will be a bit higher at USD 650 per person.
This itinerary could of course be customized to suit your plans and means for the visit. It could be to put in more days for individual activities in Kampala and Entebbe, or time for interviews for a research paper or essay.
