7 Days Uganda Student Safari

This 7 Days Uganda Student Safari is a perfect educational and adventure-filled experience for our group of 15 students and 3 teachers that takes the group through some of the most scenic and culturally rich areas of the Pearl of Africa. From Kampala’s vibrant streets to the Ugandan countryside’s rural communities, you will have the unique opportunity to engage directly with local people, participate in community service, and gain a firsthand understanding of daily life. The trip starts and ends in Kampala/Entebbe, and we strongly regard safety first for the students and teachers.

Highlights of the 7 Days Uganda Student Safari.

Day 1: Pick up from the Airport and then go shopping and exchange money, and welcome dinner.

Day 2: Visit a local school or conduct home visits in families in Kampala.

Day 3: Kampala City Tour.

Day 4: Rural Outreach program and Cultural Immersion.

Day 5: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park.

Day 6: Murchison Falls morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise.

Day 7: Hike to the top of the falls and drive back to Kampala/Entebbe.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up from the Airport and then go shopping and exchange money, and welcome dinner.

On day 1 of the 7 Days Uganda Student Safari, upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be picked up by our company safari guide, who will brief you about the safari and then transfer you to your accommodation. And along the way, you will have a glimpse of the vibrant Ugandan landscape. After checking into your hotel, the group will go for currency exchange at a local bureau as well as go shopping at a local supermarket or market that will the group to purchase any personal items they may need for the trip. Later, you will return to your accommodation for a delightful dinner and an overnight stay at Red Chilli Hideaway Kampala.

Day 2: Visit a local school or conduct home visits in families in Kampala.

After an early breakfast on day 2 of the 7 Days Uganda Student Safari, you will check out of the hotel and meet your driving guide, then head for Kampala to visit a local school. This allows students to interact with their Ugandan counterparts, participate in a class or a sports activity, and engage in a cultural exchange. This provides a direct, firsthand experience of the Ugandan education system.

In the afternoon after lunch, the group will have a chance to visit local families in Kampala to experience and understand the daily life, traditions, and family structures in a Ugandan community setting. After the day’s activities, you will proceed to check into your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay at Red Chilli Hideaway Kampala.

Day 3: Kampala City Tour.

After breakfast on day 3 of the safari, you meet up with your driver guide to go for a comprehensive tour of Kampala city’s key landmarks, offering insights into the city’s history, religion, and commerce. The students will visit the stunning Gaddafi National Mosque, where students will be able to climb the minaret for a panoramic, 360-degree view of Kampala’s seven hills, an excellent photo opportunity. Students will also visit various craft and fish markets, including Nakasero market, which is the oldest and largest market in Uganda and Ggaba market on the shores of lake victoria habitat that harbors over five hundred species of fish including the famous Tilapia, where they will get to interact with the people of Uganda, you will get to purchase some organic fruits, get to interact with the locals as they purchase different souvenirs, and so on. After the city tour, you will drive back to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Gaddafi National Mosque

Day 4: Rural Outreach program and Cultural Immersion.

On day 4 of the safari, after an early breakfast, the group will meet up with their guide and travel to a local village or rural community. Upon arrival, the group will engage in pre-arranged outreach programs such as engaging in farm work, participating in local cooking sessions, and a guided village walk that will allow for more personal interactions, providing a deeper understanding of their daily routines, traditions, and way of life. Later, you will drive back to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park.

After an early morning breakfast, you will check out of your hotel and meet up with your safari driver, and embark on your journey to Murchison Falls National Park. The journey takes about 5 to 6 hours’ drive, and on the way, you will have a stopover at Ziwa rhino sanctuary for rhino tracking, where you will continue the journey with another stopover for lunch. After lunch, you will proceed to Murchison Falls National Park and upon arrival, you will drive directly to the top of the falls, where you will enjoy great views of the waterfall, water plashes, enjoy views of the beautiful scenery, among others. From the top of the falls, you will drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Red Chili Rest Camp.

Day 6: Murchison Falls morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise.

After an early breakfast on day 6 of the safari, you will meet up with your driver guide to go for a morning game drive in the park, where you will be able to view animals like buffaloes, Jackson’s hartebeest, elephants, waterbucks, giraffes, Uganda kobs, oribi, warthogs, among others. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch.

Boat cruise

After lunch, you will go for an afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of the falls, where you will be able to view hippos and crocodiles in the water, view other animals along the shores, and water birds, among others. After the boat cruise, you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Hike to the top of the falls and drive back to Kampala/Entebbe.

Enjoy breakfast at the lodge and get ready to exit the park. You will check out of your hotel and drive to connect to the top of the falls for the breathtaking views at the top of Murchison Falls National Park. This is a great chance to do some birding and take beautiful photos. After the safari experience, you will head back to Kampala city or Entebbe International Airport.

Tour Price: USD 6,500

Note:

The USD 6,500 tour price includes Accommodation, conducting home visits in Kampala, Kampala city tour, visiting craft and fish markets, rural community outreach programs, and community visits.

The trip to Murchison Falls will cost USD 500 per person, which includes game viewing, boat cruise, entrance Fees, safari vehicle, driver guide, Fuel and the top of the falls; however, if you choose the Big Five Safari, which includes rhino tracking at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the cost will be a bit higher at USD 650 per person.

This itinerary could of course be customized to suit your plans and means for the visit. It could be to put in more days for individual activities in Kampala and Entebbe, or time for interviews for a research paper or essay.
