The 6 Days Uganda Wildlife Safari is an amazing adventure that will take you to Queen Elizabeth National Park, which is Uganda’s second largest national park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, which is famously known for harbouring the highest number of mountain gorillas and Lake Mburo National Park, which is an ideal stop to relax and unwind before your return to Kampala.

During the safari, you will be able to engage in game drives and boat cruises where you will be able to spot different animals like waterbucks, giraffes, warthogs, hippos, buffaloes, lions, leopards, Uganda kobs, impalas, elands, elephants, zebras, among others. You will also engage in a gorilla trekking activity where you will get a chance to spend time with the endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat.

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and evening game drive

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and evening game drive

Depending on your arrival time at Entebbe International Airport on the first day of the 6 Days Uganda Wildlife Safari, you will be welcomed by a company representative from Diddy Safaris who will brief you about the safari and then start the journey to to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will have a stopover at the Equator in Kayabwe for photos and souvenirs before continuing.

Upon arrival, check in at your lodge, have lunch, relax, and later go for an evening game drive where you may spot elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, Uganda kobs, warthogs, and, if lucky, lions and leopards. After the drive, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Pumba Safari Cottages,  Elephant Plains Lodge, or Mweya Safari Lodge.

Accommodation options in Entebbe include: Via Via hotel, 2 Friends Beach hotel, Karibu Guesthouse Entebbe, Golden Quest Hotel Entebbe, or Papyrus Guesthouse Entebbe.

Day 2: Morning game drive/ lion tracking experience and afternoon boat cruise

After an early breakfast, your driver guide will pick you up for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi Plains, known for their abundant wildlife. Look out for lions, leopards, hyenas, elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, warthogs, and a variety of birds.

Return to the lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, go for an exciting boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lake Edward and Lake George. The cruise lasts about 2 to 3 hours and offers views of hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and abundant aquatic birdlife including cormorants, kingfishers, bee-eaters, and pelicans. After the boat cruise, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

On the third day of the 6 Days Uganda Wildlife Safari, you will have breakfast at the lodge, check out, and meet up with your driver guide to start the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. On the way, you will enjoy stunning views and also have a stopover in Ishasha sector, where you will be able to view the tree-climbing lions lying on acacia/fig tree branches if you are lucky. After the game drive in Ishasha sector, you will have en-route lunch and then proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Upon arrival, you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early breakfast, carry your packed lunch and transfer to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing. After the briefing, you will start your trek in search of a habituated gorilla family. Trekking can take 30 minutes to 7 hours depending on the gorillas’ location. You may also spot other primates, birds, and various plant species.

Once you find the gorillas, spend a magical hour with them observing their behaviour, watching them feed, groom, play and capture memorable photos and videos.

Return to the starting point where you will receive a certificate for participating in the trek, and then head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park and evening game drive

After breakfast, check out and drive to Lake Mburo National Park, a small but scenic park known for its rolling hills and rich wildlife. On the way, you may stop again at the Equator for more photos and souvenirs if you missed it earlier.

Arrive at your lodge, have lunch and relax. In the evening, enjoy a game drive where you may spot zebras, giraffes, elands, impalas, topis, buffaloes, warthogs, and if lucky, leopards. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Walking safari in Lake Mburo and return to Kampala

Enjoy an early breakfast and head out for a guided walking safari, a unique experience only Lake Mburo offers. Spot zebras, impalas, elands, giraffes, and birds up close on foot.

After the walk, return to the lodge for lunch, check out, and drive back to Kampala. You may stop at the Equator if you didn’t on Day 5. On arrival in Kampala or Entebbe, your driver guide will drop you off at the airport or your preferred location.
