This 5 Days Murchison Falls and white water rafting safari will lead you to Murchison Falls National Park, the largest national park in Uganda, which is also home to the world’s most powerful waterfalls and home to four of the big five animals in Uganda. The safari experience will lead you to Jinja to the source of the River Nile, where you will participate in white water rafting. The safari experience will give you the chance to watch a number of wildlife species when you participate in the game drives in Murchison Falls National Park. The trip starts and ends in Kampala/Entebbe.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Jinja

Depending on your location in Kampala city or Entebbe, you will be picked up by our company safari guide, who will brief you about the safari, and then transfer you to Jinja town to visit the source of the Nile. The safari experience is the perfect activity to bond with your friends while having fun. After the day’s activity, you will check into your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay at Jinja Nile Resort, 2 Friends Guest House, or Source of the Nile hotel.

Accommodation options in Entebbe include: Via Via hotel, 2 Friends Beach hotel, Karibu Guesthouse Entebbe, Golden Quest Hotel Entebbe, or Papyrus Guesthouse Entebbe.

Day 2: White water rafting

On day 2 of the 5 Days Murchison Falls and white water rafting safari, after an early morning breakfast, you will meet up with your guide and embark on your white water rafting experience on the Nile. It’s a full-day activity; you will report for briefing before the activity, as well as receive rafting gear for the activity. After rafting, you will return to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3:  Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After an early morning breakfast, you will meet up with your safari driver and embark on your journey to Murchison Falls National Park. It’s a 6-7 hour drive with an en-route lunch to enter the park via Kichwabanyobo gate and connect to visit the top of the falls. After visiting the top of the falls, you will check into your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay at Red Chili Rest Camp, Sambia lodge, Murchison Falls Bamboo Village, or Paraa Safari Lodge.

Day 4: Murchison Falls morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise

Wake up to a tasty breakfast in the Murchison Falls National Park and set out for another eventful day. Your driver guide will be waiting for you to get ready and set to embark on the second game drive in the Murchison Falls National Park. You will follow a different trail for a different experience and a chance to spot more wildlife. This park is home to a large number of birds, so if you are interested in birds, this morning game drive is a great chance to spot a number of them. Right after the 4-hour morning game drive, you will head back to the accommodation to escape the hot, scorching midday sun. Lunch will be served and relax at the lodge terrace or in your room, waiting for the next activity. In the late afternoon, when the sun has calmed down a bit, you will make your way to the River Nile, where you will have your boat trip. This boat trip gives the ultimate feel of the Murchison Falls and their strength the closer you get. You also get to spot the aquatic life of the park, and these are the crocodiles and the hippopotami that stay on the river banks. After this thrilling experience, you will connect back to the hotel to refresh and enjoy dinner.

Day 5: Hike to the top of the falls and drive back to Kampala

Enjoy breakfast at the lodge and get ready to exit the park. You will check out of your hotel and drive to connect to the top of the falls for the breathtaking views at the top of Murchison Falls National Park. This is a great chance to do some birding and take beautiful photos. After the safari experience, you will head back to Kampala city or Entebbe International Airport.
