This 1 Day Mabamba Swamp Birding Safari will be done in a motorized traditional canoe as we search for the shoebill wading through the overgrown papyrus. Once you arrive at the site, you will be advised by a skilled Mabamba guide to advise you on the possible location of the different special bird species in this area.

For the seasoned birder you have high chance to spot for many other bird species in the community and at the swamp. Mabamaba is home to numerous water birds including migratory birds from Europe. Some of the bird list to search out besides famous Shoebill include; Olive bellied sunbird, Grey rumped Swallow, Blue breasted Bee-eater, African Jacana, Malachite Kingfisher, Little stint, Angola Swallow, Grey –headed Gull, Knob-billed Duck, Great Cormorant, Grey-headed Gull, African Pied common Squacco Heron, Red-billed fire finch Bee-eater, Yellow –rumped, Tinker bird, Sooty chat, Weyns’s weaver among others.

You can will be surprised of sighting the most sought after bird in Uganda, you can also spot various birds along the way back to your hotel in Kampala/Entebbe.
