It is known as the park on the highway. It is the gateway to Uganda’s rich south western tourism hub. It opens up to the Queen Elizabeth National Park, the Rwenzori Mountain, Kibale National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and the Virungas.

Today, it is the zebra kingdom. The park is famous for the zebras that graze by the highway. It is such a joyous experience to see zebras crossing the highway in real life. Bushbucks, impalas, buffalos, oribi, waterbuck and antelopes are proud to call this home.

There are 350 species of birds in this park known for its savannah woodland. Exceptional birds like the shoebill and the African Finfoot are glad to call this home. At the lake, large crocodiles set traps for their prey camouflaging with the surroundings. Hippos and buffalos take turns in their individual spaces as they reel in mud playfully as they shield from the heat. The drive from the gates to the lake is full of random animals and birds that you do not want to miss.

Everywhere you turn, there is one. It is located in a lowland with a long stretch of swamps and wetlands where crested cranes spend most of their time. To be able to see most of the treasures, give yourself time
